Our Story
We've Been at This a While. And What a Ride It's Been.
Two Second Media didn't begin with a grand business plan to build a full-service media and production company. It started with two friends, a conversation, and an opportunity to make something of their own.
Nearly two decades later, that little video production company has grown, stumbled, rebuilt, reinvented itself, and expanded into things neither founder could have imagined in 2008.
We've won awards. We've produced national campaigns. We've built television studios, launched streaming platforms, helped organizations navigate a global pandemic, and created experiences for audiences of all sizes.
We've also learned some lessons the hard way.
And through all of it, one thing has remained constant: we love what we do, and we're always looking for what's next.
2007–2013
It Started With Two Friends
In December 2007, Chris Weir returned home from Iraq after serving four years in the United States Army, including a deployment with the 101st Airborne Division.
As he transitioned out of military service, an old friend reached out with an idea.
A high school friend and former college roommate had a video production business and wanted help growing it. One conversation led to another, and in early 2008, the two became equal partners and founded Tabor Media Group in the Chattanooga, Tennessee, market.
What began as a small video production business grew into one of the area's leading advertising agencies.
By 2011, the company had reached $1 million in annual revenue, and Chris was named Businessman of the Year. Over those early years, the team earned 12 ADDY Awards, eight Telly Awards, and two Communicator Awards.
By 2013, Tabor Media Group had become the second-largest advertising agency in the Chattanooga market.
Not bad for two old friends with an idea.
2013–2016
A New Name. A Bigger Vision.
In 2013, Chris's original business partner stepped away from the company to focus on his family, and Chris acquired full ownership.
With that transition came a new name: Two Second Media.
The company began expanding beyond traditional advertising and video production, becoming more involved in community initiatives, producing live events and sports coverage, and working with larger national clients.
Between 2013 and 2014, revenue doubled.
But Chris was thinking beyond Chattanooga.
In 2015, after nearly a year researching and visiting potential expansion markets, Phoenix, Arizona, emerged as the right place to build the company's next chapter.
Chris, his wife Candace, and their two daughters moved west in early 2016 to establish the new office, while the Chattanooga operation continued under local management.
The plan was to grow into a two-market company.
The reality turned out a little differently.
2016–2019
Not Every Chapter Is a Success Story
Shortly after the Phoenix expansion, four of the company's largest clients experienced severe financial setbacks. Their production and advertising budgets disappeared almost overnight.
The impact was significant.
By the end of 2016, the Chattanooga office had closed. By the end of 2017, the company had scaled back to Chris working from home with a network of independent contractors.
It was a long way from the growth the business had experienced just a few years earlier.
But closing the company wasn't the plan.
In April 2018, Two Second Media incorporated in Arizona and began an aggressive effort to rebuild. New relationships, new clients, and a renewed focus on sales and marketing slowly brought the business back.
By late 2018 and into 2019, the momentum was returning. The company moved back into an office, began hiring again, and started investing in new production capabilities.
For the first time in several years, things were looking up.
Then came 2020.
2020
The Year Everything Changed
When the COVID-19 pandemic brought in-person gatherings to a halt, the production industry faced an extraordinary challenge.
Conferences were canceled. Fundraisers couldn't bring donors together. Companies couldn't meet with shareholders. Organizations everywhere needed new ways to communicate with their audiences.
For Two Second Media, an investment made the year before changed everything.
In 2019, the company had begun experimenting with livestreaming technology, producing its own video podcast and developing similar projects for a handful of clients. The equipment was modest, but the experience was invaluable.
So when the world suddenly needed virtual events, Two Second Media was already doing the work.
During 2020, the team produced 16 live telethons, multiple corporate shareholder meetings, and two regularly scheduled live television programs distributed online.
But clients needed more than cameras and streaming technology. They needed help planning events, coordinating production, managing audiovisual requirements, and finding creative ways to bring people together while physically apart.
What began as a video production company was becoming something much bigger.
And that wasn't the only transformation happening.
2020
Finding Something Good in a Difficult Year
While Chris and the production team were helping organizations connect virtually, Candace Weir was finding another way to bring people together.
With families confined to their homes, the couple developed an idea called The Front Porch Project.
Candace would visit families at their homes, remain outside at a safe distance, and photograph them together on their front porches.
What started as a creative response to an unusual time quickly took off.
Between July and December 2020, Candace photographed approximately 200 families. Her work appeared in local news coverage and regional and national magazines, offering a small bright spot during an otherwise difficult year.
The project also helped establish Memories by Candace as a distinct photography brand within the Two Second Media family.
Sometimes the most meaningful work isn't the biggest production.
Sometimes it's a family on their front porch.
2020–2021
From Livestreams to Television Studios
By late 2020, Two Second Media was ready to take another step.
The company launched WTSMTV, its first online television platform and an ambitious experiment in independently produced streaming programming.
It started as a pilot project. It didn't stay small for long.
New shows followed. Hosts, production crews, and additional staff joined the operation. By mid-2021, Two Second Media had moved into a 10,000-square-foot studio and office facility in midtown Phoenix.
The team was producing programming around the clock, and its morning show grew into one of the most-watched online morning programs serving the Phoenix market.
What began as an experiment in digital programming helped shape the company's future in television, streaming, and original content.
That experience would eventually lead to ROBAT TV, Two Second Media's dedicated streaming platform.
Meanwhile, something else was happening.
The organizations that had relied on the company for virtual events in 2020 were returning to in-person gatherings. But they didn't want to give up everything they had learned about reaching audiences online.
They wanted both.
And they wanted a team that understood how to make it all work together.
2022–2025
The Company Kept Evolving
As in-person and hybrid events returned, Two Second Media's role continued expanding.
Clients were asking for help with much more than video production. They needed event planning, staging, audiovisual technology, livestreaming, technical direction, and experienced people to coordinate it all.
In 2022, the company established 726 Studios to bring those growing event production and planning capabilities together.
By 2025, the operation had expanded again, moving into approximately 20,000 square feet on the seventh floor of Arizona Center in downtown Phoenix.
The space brought production studios, event facilities, offices, and a recording studio together under one roof.
That recording studio opened another door. As the team began working with musicians and bands, Two Second Media launched 2SM:Records in late 2025.
What had started as a two-person video production business now encompassed video, events, photography, television, streaming, and music.
Different disciplines. Different audiences. One evolving company.
Today
Still Building What's Next
Today, Two Second Media is a full-service media and production company based in Phoenix, Arizona.
But we don't think our story is best told by listing everything we can do.
It's better told by the people we've worked with, the challenges we've solved, the risks we've taken, and the willingness to keep learning.
We've been a small business. We've been a growing agency. We've operated large production facilities and we've worked from home offices. We've had years when everything seemed to go right and others when absolutely nothing went according to plan.
Those experiences have shaped how we approach our work.
We believe good ideas deserve serious effort. We believe technology should serve the experience, not the other way around. We believe relationships matter more than transactions. And we believe a little creativity, a willingness to adapt, and a healthy sense of humor can go a long way.
We're proud of where we've been.
We're even more interested in where we're going.
And after all these years, we're still just getting started.
